• Member of a Hybrid Infrastructure Team that monitors, manages and maintains over 10 internal vCenter shared customer cloud environments as well as over 20 customers own internally hosted VMware/storage environments. 3rd line point of contact and am expected to resolve all issues that may arise without contacting VMware as in many cases customers only have a support contact with us and not VMware direct. • I am a member of the Server Team that consists of 5 staff. We jointly look after a server estate of approx. 200 Wintel/Unix/Linux Servers. Peterborough City Council use the following applications:

• My personal responsibilities are:
• +SAN administration (Including Fibre Channel switch zoning and carving up disk space on an EMC CLARiiON CX4-240)
• +VMware administration (Including upgrading, patching, monitoring and maintaining 7 x IBM x3850 ESXi hosts. These run the majority of the Windows server estate, approx. 150 Virtual Servers).
• +Server Hardware Maintenance (making sure all Server hardware is patched in a timely fashion to vendors guidelines)
• +CA ArcServe Backup infrastructure (Making sure everything is backed up correctly in a timely fashion and restores function)
• +Infrastructure Improvement (Looking where savings and efficiencies can be made)
• Personal Accolades:
• +Implementing the EMC CX4-240 SAN and migrating several services from an ageing Sun Flexline 380 which has since been decommissioned
• +Implementing a new Backup infrastructure and eliminating the need for end users to put in their own tapes at remote sites as well as consolidating all backup's down to 3 tape library devices.
• +Implementing a vSphere 4.0 installation using 7 ESXi hosts that have 4 x Quad Core CPU's and 96GB RAM each. Then upgrading this to vSphere 4.1 when it was released. Currently planning for the vSphere 5 upgrade.
