I built EagleEye–an AI-powered startup screening tool from the ground up. EagleEye is EarlyBird's main source of active deal flow with 50% of the opportunities sourced from the platform. The tool has assessed over 20 million founders to date and over 10 million companies.
As part of a small fast moving team, I got wear many hats in this possition. However my main responsibilities can be summarized as:
Data collection: Scraping the internet for the digital footprint of startups.
Data processing / data engineering: streamlining all scraped data and using entity matching algorithms to aggregate the information. We use Google Cloup Platform and Apache Airflow for our orchestration with a postgresql database.
Machine learning prioritizing and categorizing startups: Building AI systems to group and prioritize the deals with the most potential. Using LLMs and more traditional machine learning techniques.
