Dany Horovitz — Product Manager

With more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector managing teams in and across the second line of defence, I am currently a Senior Manager in TD Bank’s Data Risk Management (DRM) group. In this role I lead a team of risk management professionals to perform targeted challenge to the bank’s business segments and corporate functions. Within DRM, I also developed the bank’s data risk taxonomy, and previously managed the regulatory change process for data-related regulations, supported the bank’s lines of businesses as they consider data impacts on vendor contracts, and led the bank’s response to regulatory findings that have data risk impacts. I routinely work with other control partners such as legal, compliance, audit, and operational risk management. Before joining DRM, I was a Senior Manager of Operational Risk Management at TD Bank. In this role, I provided challenge and objective guidance to Corporate Functions, including Finance and Human Resources, help them understand and evaluate their operational risks, and support them as they manage and mitigate those risks. I also have experience working as a Senior Manager in TD's Compliance group, where I recruited, trained, and managed a team of second line professionals providing objective guidance and independent challenge on regulatory compliance matters across the bank’s corporate functions. I also developed and ran the department’s articling program - the first of its kind in Canada. I previously worked at a large, international management consulting firm where I specialized in advising clients on regulatory and contract compliance matters. I am a licensed lawyer, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2011 after articling at a large, full-service law firm in Downtown Toronto. I hold a Masters of Business Administration (Dean’s Honour List) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Arts (with distinction) from McGill University.
