We are building P•TAL (Punjabi Thathera Art Legacy): a brand that revives and reimagines India’s traditional brass, copper and bronze craft for modern homes across the world. We started P•TAL as a small college project from SRCC (Shri Ram College of Commerce), just an idea that India’s oldest craft shouldn’t become a story of the past. What began with 3 artisans in the lanes of Amritsar has now grown into a community of 100+ Thatheras, India’s only UNESCO-listed metal craftsmen. For us, growth isn’t only about revenue. It’s about: •More lights in artisan homes •More dignity in the work they do •More people cooking, hosting, celebrating and living with things that last The products we make are heirlooms. Not gifts that move house to house: but things that move generation to generation. We believe in: • Artful Utility - beauty you can use every day • Traditions made relevant - not preserved in museums, but lived in kitchens • Building slowly and deliberately - real craftsmanship takes time Over the last few years, we have: 1. Built a D2C brand loved in India and abroad 2. Worked with chefs, home cooks, and customers who care about what they bring into their homes 3. Opened experience stores, because some things need to be felt, not explained I share our journey here - not to sell, but to learn in public. Building a brand that carries heritage, craft, and purpose is not quick work. But it is meaningful work. And we are grateful to be doing it with our artisans, our team, and the people who believe in what we are building.
