After 14+ years in recruitment, and a background in computer science, I have learned one thing clearly. Most hiring problems are not talent shortages. They are judgement problems. Hiring starts to break when teams lose confidence in the process. When too much time is spent reviewing CVs, interviewing the wrong profiles, and second guessing decisions that should be straightforward. The cost is not just a bad hire. It is lost momentum, missed delivery, and leadership time that never comes back. AG Talent exists to remove that noise. I work with founders, CTOs and Heads of Engineering who care more about getting the hire right than getting it fast. If you want dozens of CVs, I am not the right partner. If you want a small number of well assessed engineers who can own problems end to end, we will work well together. I run a founder led, concierge level recruitment service that is hands on and intentionally low volume. I stay close to the detail, represent your brand properly in the market, and take responsibility for the outcome, not just the process. I have supported and scaled engineering teams for companies such as easyJet, TrueLayer, S&P Global and Genius Sports, as well as early stage and Series A businesses where a single bad hire can materially set the company back. I place product minded, commercially aware software engineers who understand the impact of their decisions beyond the codebase. Engineers trusted to ship, communicate, and take ownership. My network includes engineers with real commercial experience across C#, Elixir, Java, Python, Golang, Kotlin, Rust and JavaScript, with particular strength in backend, full stack and frontend roles. I am typically brought in when: • A role has been open too long • Shortlists look busy but miss the mark • Founders or CTOs are spending too much time on hiring • The next hire needs to be right the first time For engineers, my approach is equally direct. I will not oversell roles, hide problems, or push you into a move that does not make sense. If that level of honesty is uncomfortable, we will not work well together.
