With 4 years of experience as an SDET at BlackRock, I’ve built and maintained automated testing frameworks for some of the most critical financial software in the world. My job has always been to think like a user, act like an engineer, and stay three steps ahead of failure. But I’ve been watching the landscape shift. AI-assisted testing tools are changing what it means to be a quality engineer. Rather than wait to be disrupted, I’ve leaned in — exploring LLMs, building RAG-based agents, and automating workflows that used to eat hours of my week. Most recently, I built a Microsoft 365 Copilot agent that generates contextually relevant test cases automatically whenever code changes. What used to take significant manual effort now takes a prompt. Outside of my day job, I run a animal welfare NGO and spend weekends trekking through the mountains — both of which, honestly, teach you a lot about managing unpredictable systems and staying calm when things go sideways.
