My entrepreneurial journey started as a kid at the grocery store my mother ran with my father after his shifts ended at the steel mill. I’d catch the bus to school from the store after stocking the milk, newspapers, and bread. At age 12, my father quit the steel mill & bought a restaurant & I would take the school bus to cut grass, wash dishes, and bus tables. After high school, I played football in the Big 10 for the University of Indiana, under Lee Corso, & then transferred to play at University of Pittsburgh, under Jackie Sherrill & Jimmie Johnson. After my junior year, my father had a heart attack & could no longer manage the restaurant & marina, so I dropped out of college to help manage them. Unfortunately, a recession & sky-high interest rates forced my father to sell the marina at a significant loss. In my early 20s, my father passed away in my arms from a second heart attack & then I refocused my energy to work 6-7 days a week managing the restaurant to help my mom dig out of massive debt from the marina debacle. Now I blend my Wall Street credibility with Main Street compassion to help people achieve their dream lives.
