• Conceived of, pitched and led States of the Nation, a year-long series spending a week in each state to uncover the innovative people and ideas reshaping this imperfect union. Personally reported from 44 states while coordinating coverage from six others.
• Interviewed governors, senators, CEOs, hog farmers and beekeepers, immigrant hookah shop owners and wild horse ranchers. Flew in single-prop planes over Yellowstone in Montana and sat cockpit with the Missionaries of the Skies in Idaho. Boated down the Savannah River next to "big-ass, radioactive alligators" warmed by nuclear-polluted waters and smoked cigars with the fat cat Black businessman reshaping the South Side of Chicago. All the while, seeking to help reintroduce Americans to our neighbors after a bitterly divisive election.
• I researched, pitched and published 4-5 stories from each state, and in many cases, shot photos that were published with the pieces from the road. Coverage was politics and business focused, but also included travel stories, food coverage and even sports features. The project was nominated by OZY for a Pulitzer, and earned positive reviews in media outlets, such as Cheddar and The Columbia Journalism Review.

• The Red & Black’s top student staff member in the newsroom. Responsible for the tone of the newspaper, as well as the direction of the news, sports, variety, photo, copy and opinions desks. The guiding spirit of the editorial staff, the editor in chief is The Red & Black’s ambassador to the University of Georgia community.
• Sports Editor (May 2012 - Dec. 2012):
• Managed/edited staff of 18 reporters. I covered BB&T Atlanta Open and NCAA Tennis Championships in Athens. Wrote articles on every UGA sport as an editor.
• Staff Writer:
• Tennis beat writer (March 2011 - May 2012): Covered UGA tennis team which finished No. 2 in the country, and had freelance work published by the Durham Herald-Sun and the Columbus Dispatch.
• Football beat writer (September 2011 - January 2012): Covered the SEC Championship game. Was responsible for covering practices daily, providing notebooks and injury updates, writing player features and covering games.
