• As an external associated researcher, I collaborated with NXP Semiconductors and the Technical University of Hamburg to conduct an investigation into the coexistence of NXP's Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology and the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard (IEEE 802.11ax).
• Using Design-of-Experiment principles and network engineering I built a test set-up with commercially available hardware that could reliably reproduce the suspected interference phenomena
• Implemented a narrowband interference cancellation feedback filter on the UWB chip which successfully mitigated the interference effects by 90%. This solved an emerging compliance problem for the IEEE and opened a substantial business opportunity for NXP.
• Implemented a new software protocol for UWB transmission sequences based on Bayesian statistics increasing successful communication by 70%. Presenting its results to top-tier clients like General Motors, Continental and the academic research groups of the Technical University of Graz and Vienna for adaptation.
• Programming the NCJ29D5 Ranger4 UWB transceiver with embedded C and using Matlab and Python for data analysis
