Mayank Vatsa — Head of Design

As a Professor at IIT Jodhpur, I conduct cutting-edge research and teaching in biometrics, computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and deep learning. With over 15 years of experience in these fields, I have published over 350 papers in prestigious journals and conferences, and received multiple best paper and poster awards. I am also a Fellow of IEEE, IAPR, and AAIA, and a Swarnajayanti Fellow, which recognizes young scientists with outstanding research potential. I have also received 2023 IEEE Meritorious Service Award by IEEE Biometrics Council. I also led the efforts to start IEEE Transactions on BIOM. I have contributed to the development and standardization of biometric technologies for e-governance applications in India, as a member of the Indian Biometrics Standards Committee and the UIDAI's Biometrics Standard Subcommittee. I have also served as a panellist at the G20 Conference on "Crime and Security in the age of NFTs, AI and Metaverse", where I shared my insights and perspectives on the emerging challenges and opportunities in these domains. My mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in biometrics and computer vision, and to inspire and mentor the next generation of researchers and innovators.
