About

If you think I’m just another scientist, I’d ask you to read a tiny bit more … about me: Simply put ... Intelligent. Visionary. Innovative. Bold. Thought-provoking. Eloquent. Stylish: aka a unicorn For as long as I can remember, I have never been drawn to science for the sake of science. Science needs a vital purpose. Data must resonate to captive audiences. Conclusions are best articulated through the power of story. And artful presentations connect deeper with your audience than a slide littered with bullet points, endless words and confusing graphics. While the span of my career has been within research and technology it is the network that I nurtured with researchers, sales, marketing, manufacturing and industry participants that enables me to have a balanced perspective on the future of the wax industry. My ideas seamlessly blend deep scientific understanding with consumer insights, customer needs and industry trends. This is thought leadership. This is how you take a scientist and create an industry leader as a technical marketer. As a Global Wax Technical Advisor my role is to listen closely to customers and respond innovatively with product solutions. With my technical guidance our team has commercialized 4 new candle wax blends within less than 3 years; from mere prototype to scaled production. Collaborating with Marketing, my technical depth has been leveraged enabling a global brand launch, the creation of countless LinkedIn posts and the development of multiple product data sheets highlighting value-in-use performance. More importantly I have become a voice of the industry, speaking at both the 2024 and 2025 National Candle Association (NCA) conferences where I chronicled the history of wax purity and the consumer influence on candle wax quality. This industry leadership is recognized as I was recently selected to join the NCA’s Board of Directors. It is an honour to be given the opportunity to more broadly influence and advocate for the future of the candle industry. The wonderful world of wax continues to evolve and as the supply for traditional paraffin decreases, the call for product innovation and creativity has never been greater. Leading our next generation wax innovation platform, I continue to push the bounds of our technical understanding in how wax can be made. It’s this out-of-the-box approach to product design that will help shape the strategic vision for the wax product line of the future.
