I’ve never been the kind of person who runs away from problems. If something is broken — face it. Fix it. That mindset is exactly how Dhobi G started. As a student, I saw people struggling with something as basic as laundry, missed deliveries, poor hygiene, inconsistent quality. Instead of ignoring it, I built a hyperlocal platform for laundry pickups and deliveries to make textile care easier for everyday users. But as we scaled, a deeper problem emerged. Customer complaints increased. Orders were delayed. Some never even got processed. So we spoke to 150+ laundry partners across India, and what we discovered was bigger than a service issue. India’s textile care and commercial laundry industry was fundamentally broken. There was no reliable laundry technology, no structured operations systems, and little visibility across the supply chain systems powering daily laundry operations. Machines were underutilized, staff productivity was invisible, and owners struggled to scale consistent service. It became clear that this wasn’t just a service problem. It was an infrastructure problem. So we started building systems instead of patches. At Dhobi G, we developed Laundry OS — a technology platform designed to modernize commercial laundry and institutional laundry systems through better infrastructure, industrial automation, and operational discipline. The platform integrates: • IoT-enabled machine monitoring • AI-driven staff and workload tracking • Operational dashboards for order visibility • Standardized workflows through industry SOPs Our work focuses on strengthening campus infrastructure and institutional operations across universities, hostels, and residential campuses. To address the sector’s skill gap, we also launched Asia’s first Centre for Innovation in Laundry & Dry Cleaning (CILDC), focused on workforce development, laundry technology research, and informal sector formalization. At Dhobi G, our approach is guided by a simple philosophy: Easier. Cleaner. Greener. Easier systems for operators. Cleaner standards for textile care. Greener operations for the planet. To guide this transformation, I developed the 4D Textile Care Reform Framework: • Dignify Labor • Design Systems • Discipline Capital • Decarbonize Operations Today we are focused on Building - Textile Care | Commercial Laundry | Laundry Technology | Institutional Laundry | Campus Infrastructure | Industrial Automation | Emerging markets. If you are building infrastructure, modernizing institutional systems, or working on workforce transformation in emerging markets, we should probably talk
