About

I'm figuring out AI security by breaking things and writing about what I find. That's the honest version. The polished version would say "AI Security Researcher", but the truth is I'm early in this journey, and most of what I know, I learned by building labs on my laptop and testing attacks that the documentation said shouldn't work. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they do, and that's when it gets interesting. Do visit my portfolio, it says a lot about me: ractor.tech I'm currently a Junior Application Security Engineer at Hysn Technologies, working in application security and DevSecOps. Before this, I interned in cybersecurity, founded a startup that didn't survive (HomeWork — built it, shipped it, learned more from its failure than any course), and spent four years as a freelance technical writer trying to explain security without putting people to sleep. On the side, I build things to understand them, an LLM attack lab to test OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, a GraphQL security tool (GOAT), an AI-powered resume platform, and a few open-source tools that solve problems I kept running into myself. Some of these work well. Some are still rough. All of them taught me something I couldn't have learned from a tutorial. I write about AI and LLM security here, mostly research paper breakdowns, MCP protocol threats, and the gaps between what companies say their guardrails do and what actually happens when you test them. I try to cover things before they hit the mainstream timeline, not because I'm first, but because I'm reading the papers anyway and figured someone should translate them. B.Tech in Computer Science from SAGE University, Bhopal. Most of my actual education came from Stanford CS224n, Fast.ai, HackTheBox CTFs, and a lot of late nights with documentation. If you're working on LLM security, building with MCP, or just curious about why AI guardrails keep getting bypassed, I'm always happy to talk. I don't have all the answers. But I'm asking the questions.

  • During this internship, I worked on hands-on security projects that combined penetration testing, system hardening, and technical reporting:
  • HackTheBox Machine Reports
  • Completed two in-depth HTB write-ups (Medium & Insane difficulty).
  • Used tools like Nmap, Burp Suite, and custom scripts to perform reconnaissance, exploitation, and privilege escalation.
  • Documented both successful and failed attempts with diagrams, screenshots, and detailed methodology.
  • Published the Medium-difficulty report publicly and the insane one privately.
  • System Hardening with CIS-CAT Assessor
  • Conducted compliance checks and improved security score from 38% to 42%.
  • Applied hardening measures: enabled firewall, configured Defender, disabled SMBv1, and reduced timeout policies.
  • Classified vulnerabilities by severity and mapped them to real-world threats like ransomware and insider risks.
  • Key Outcome: Strengthened penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and system hardening skills while producing structured technical documentation aligned with real-world cybersecurity practices.
