• As part of the Fire TV App Experiences organization, I run a variety of projects in the application developer space against all supported platform operating systems. My team is responsible for building concrete production applications, including the Parental Controls on Vega OS and AI driven art gallery recommendations for the Ember TV line. I am responsible for other facets of the application developer experience, including the Continuous Integration system for Fire TV applications and products, AI education, tooling and adoption.

• Software Development Manager the Developer Experience of the Vega OS . We build 3p-focused tooling and workflows (IDE, command-line, test-frameworks, automation, and more) that 2P and 3P developers use to build, test and deploy their apps in the Amazon device ecosystem. This software suite would eventually become the Vega Developer Tools, announced in the fall of 2025.

Feb 2021 – Nov 2021 · 9 mos

• Software Development Manager for AIM (Amazon Insights for Manufacturing), a team dedicated to collecting data from Amazon fulfillment centers and then using this data to identify improvement opportunities in the fulfillment process. My team built and ran a suite of tools responsible for modeling, collecting, enriching, visualizing and streaming the data created by the fulfillment network.

Sep 2018 – Aug 2021 · 2 yrs 11 mos

• Senior Software Engineer on the AIM Data Historian, a data platform used to capture telemetry data published by the hardware, processes, and personnel running in Amazon fulfillment centers. Through managed distributed ingestion we collected from 100s of sites, supporting both real-time dashboarding and streaming applications, as well as long term historical analysis.

Apr 2015 – Sep 2018 · 3 yrs 5 mos · Austin, Texas

• Member of a four person team building the LYNXeon product suite, a set of large scale graph analytics tools used for forensic cyber security analysis. The platform was rewritten using the latest Java technologies, principles, libraries and APIs, and is completely divorced from its J2EE ancestor. I worked with every facet of the code base and its development process including planning, designing, implementing, reviewing and releasing.

Jun 2013 – Mar 2015 · 1 yr 9 mos

• Led work on the development of the Torch platform, a horizontally scalable and highly available graph analytics platform with a thin client front end. I specified, designed, scoped, and implemented the back-end of a Medicaid focused prototype. A successful pilot led to my implementing a productized version of the product where I focused on the platform tier and work system of the Torch application.

• Worked on both the LYNXeon and LYNXeon 2 product suites. Was responsible for specification, design, task breakdown and implementation of medium to large components and systems. In addition to the core LYNXeon 2 graph analytics platform, we worked on lots of tooling to support the platform, with lots of work done on high speed ETL processes into RDBMS. Because we were a small team, I've touched almost every part of the code base. Some key features I personally implemented include workspace and resource management, the ACL system, our geospatial capabilities, and our analytic catalog. During this time we worked with many different analytical domains, but the majority of our our efforts focused on the Cyber domain with Netflow and various other network traffic protocols.

Jun 2006 – Jun 2008 · 2 yrs

• Engineer on the Wolverine project, a large scale graph analytics platform. After a successful launch of Wolverine, we transitioned it from a research project into LYNXeon, a commercial multi-domain graph analysis product. During this time I worked heavily with the J2EE stack, developing the LYNXeon application server. I also did extensive client work using Eclipse RCP to build our Analyst Studio thick client.

Jan 2005 – Jun 2006 · 1 yr 5 mos

• Worked with small teams on the proposals and implementations of various government research projects. The majority of my time was spent on the implementations of two projects:
• Constraint based logistics planning using genetic algorithms
• An engine to generate the positioning of tie down straps on cargo so that it could withstand collisions of various velocities in all four directions.
