Dr. Hridoy Jyoti Mahanta — AI Researcher

An Engineering graduate and post graduate in Information Technology with PhD in Computer Science and Engineering. Initial research at CDAC Pune as a Project Intern in AAIG (Applied Artificial Intelligence Group). Completed project to develop NER (Named Entity Recognizer) for English language in 2011. Designed efficient routing protocols for network-on-chip with the Fat Tree Topology during Masters. Worked as a Senior Research Fellow in MeitY (formerly DeitY) sponsored project entitled "Study and analysis of power analysis wave forms of Side-channel attacks to identify a Cryptosystem." Conceived the idea/problem statement for PhD during this tenure. Successfully defended PhD at Assam University in the broad domain of power analysis attacks on smart cards. Joined Assam Don Bosco University as an Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science Engineering in 2018 and started supervising under graduate and post graduate groups in areas of security as well as AI and ML. Shifted to Jorhat to join as a Scientist in the Advanced Computation and Data Sciences Division at CSIR - North East Institute of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Currently working on strengthening computational drug discovery by using state-of-the-art tools of AI and ML in developing open source software for drug discovery.
