The redundancy that shook my world! 2018, I was leading the rollout of a new Operating Model for Westpac, with 5 partner companies. My boss called me for an early meeting. “The new op model is rolling out today…”, she started... “Yes”, I smiled, thinking she was practicing the announcement script on me. Having written it, I knew it word by word. She continued, “as a result, your position has been made redundant” I almost fell off my chair! Took me a few seconds to realize that my 9 mon old “baby” ate my job. Then a sudden realisation- last 5 years, I had been loosing myself to mediocrity! I should have seen this coming, but unfortunately I didn’t. Walking out of the turnstiles that day, I had a lot to work on. 7 days later, I was at Tony Robbins island in Fiji, doing a deep-dive within. Next few months, I went crazy to find where I went wrong & snap myself out of mediocrity. And life gave me a second chance. 6 mon later, having conquered my demons, I started helping people caught up in mediocre careers to breakthrough. And my mission of Murdering Mediocrity was born!
