About

Prashant Khanna (PK) is a global sports media and technology executive working at the intersection of sports, AI, digital innovation and live fan experiences. He currently serves as Head – Sports & Live Experiences Production Technology & Services at JioStar, where he leads the technology strategy, production infrastructure and innovation ecosystems powering some of the world’s largest live sports broadcasts. Across leadership roles at News Corp, NDTV, Turner, Disney Star and JioStar, Khanna has helped shape the evolution of modern sports broadcasting — from delivering large-scale productions for global sporting properties including BCCI (IPL), ICC global events and the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), to developing next-generation technologies that redefine how fans experience sport. He is also the driving force behind Star Lab, an award-winning R&D initiative exploring the future of sports production and fan engagement through AI, immersive viewing, mixed-reality experiences and cloud-based broadcast workflows. Khanna’s work in sports technology innovation has received global recognition. He is a recipient of the Disney Inventor Award for mixed-reality broadcast technologies and the JioStar Inventor Award (2026) for developing hybrid immersive viewing systems for live sports. In 2026 he was also named to “The Listed – Tech in Charge”, recognising global leaders shaping the future of sports technology. Teams and initiatives under his leadership have received multiple international honours including the National Award of India (2024) for accessibility innovation in sports broadcasting, the Leaders Sports Award (London) and SportsPro OTT Awards (Madrid) for broadcast and platform innovation, along with recognition in the Sports Technology Awards Global Power List. Beyond his executive role, Khanna actively contributes to the global sports and media ecosystem. He serves as Chairman of Sports Video Group (SVG) India, supporting the advancement of sports broadcast technology, and as a Board Member for the Media & Entertainment Program at IIM Mumbai, contributing to industry–academia collaboration and leadership development. He also mentors and invests in emerging SportsTech ventures, working closely with founders building the next generation of sports media, fan engagement and live experiences. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he is also a certified football coach and Cruyff Institute alumnus, staying closely connected to grassroots sport. Where sport meets technology.
