I function at the intersection of the collaborative research the company does with The Computing Infrastructure Research Centre (CIRC) at McMaster university Innovation Park in Hamilton.

• Executed a key leadership role at this biotech start-up, engaging in all aspects of foundation, funding, management, product development, go-to-market strategy- from lab samples, to validation & distribution deals- & to market contamination free PCR proteins / reagents with applications where bacterial contamination or existence of plasmids are posing real challenges. This led to multiple IPs & eventually development of an "innovative protein production" platform.
• Under the leadership of Company’s chief scientist, Dr. Nader Nourizad- a visiting scholar at Stanford University & member of Next Generation Sequencing technology, “Pyrosequencing” invention team- Pharmozyme was later able to develop a new breakthrough NGS technology called “Lumen Sequencing” (IP) optimized for short reads and thus for quick identification of target microorganisms.
• Unlocked potentials by company’s many innovations in protein engineering, allowed me to navigate the company to focus around a more attractive business strategy and bring onboard senior executives with years of experience working for renowned biotech companies such as Specialty Labs, (SP:NYSE), Pathway Diagnostics, Quest, Intrexon Corp. (NYSE: XON), Applied Biosystems.
• In 2015, company developed a prototype of Point-of-Care Diagnostics device with Sequencing results. Technology would potentially solve many of the issues identified by health practitioners & specifically in diagnosis of infectious diseases and where the causing microorganisms mutate at a much faster paste (HIV, HPV, MRSA) also in cases in which outbreaks or epidemic of life threatening diseases happen in mass scale (Ebola, Spanish Flue).
• After successfully raising over $2M in seed capital, Pharmozyme kicked-off fundraising campaign for a second round of financing and pitched to 40 Silicon Valley / SF & Canadian based VCs & Angel investors (Samsung Ventures, Pfizer, Khosla, 5AM Ventures, Life Science Angels, Dechenge), recognizing a valuation $35-$50M.
