• Evertz Microsystems is a company that provides video processing solutions to broadcasting companies. Personally, I worked on the video conversion team, and worked closely with customers such as CNN and CBC. Over the term, I worked on the following:
• I worked on providing a new feature set that enabled video transmission over IP networks and improving the existing communication protocol for inter-board communication
• Redesigned network communication mechanism to use remote procedure calls, significantly improving performance
• Implemented low level driver support for new Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) devices over I2C interface
• Performed board bring up on several products and ensured that they were fully functional for development and testing
• Interfaced Linux SOC’s with FPGA to process video in an efficient, parallel stream
