About

Building ObzenFlow, an open source streaming framework designed for correctness, durability, and provenance. ObzenFlow combines event sourcing, CQRS, and wide events into a single-node architecture that gives teams the guarantees of distributed systems without the operational complexity. Written in Rust. The philosophy behind the framework draws on 20+ years of experience in distributed systems, site reliability engineering, and open source strategy. I've led critical-path teams, built and scaled SRE organisations, and managed an Open Source Program Office collaborating with Apache PMC and OpenSearch LC members on governance, security, and strategic contribution. Previously founded RedElastic, a consultancy specialising in event sourcing, domain-driven design, and distributed computing. Before that, served as Enterprise Architect and Global Developer Advocate at Lightbend, corporate stewards of the Scala language, working across Akka, Kafka, and Cassandra. Speaker and writer on distributed systems, SRE practices, and open source strategy. Published in InfoQ and ReadWrite. Speaker at Gartner AADI, Gartner Catalyst, GeeCON, and Scala Up North.
