Don’t ever let a midlife crisis go to waste! After a dynamic career as an audience strategist, including in some of the most reputable media organisations in the world like the BBC and Discovery Networks Europe, in 2019 I turned to my calling: writing. Since then, my mission as a writer and director at international consultancy AKAS (which Richard Addy and I co-founded in 2012) has been to give voice to the voiceless, the overlooked and the repressed. I craft articles/reports that touch people’s hearts, stimulate their minds and hopefully propel many of them to act by analysing hundreds of pieces of research and thousands of data points, sometimes even delving into long-buried parts within myself to do so. I have authored The Missing Perspectives of Women in News, a award-winning, solutions-based tetralogy of reports, including From Outrage to Opportunity.
