At Kickdrum, I have taken on a variety of responsibilities across multiple projects, significantly enhancing both backend and frontend systems.
Key Contributions:
Backend Development and Infrastructure: I developed an algorithm to represent database tables as graph structures, applying topological sorting for conflict-free data import. Additionally, I transformed backend infrastructure using a serverless framework, managing Lambda functions, VPC, API Gateway, and Cognito setup.
System Security: I spearheaded efforts to enhance system security, elevating our Mozilla Observatory score from an initial F to an A+ by implementing critical security headers and automating CloudFront invalidation processes.
Frontend Development: I led the frontend development of our applications using React.js and SASS, implementing new user interfaces and incorporating advanced features. By refactoring the codebase, I reduced file sizes from 1500+ lines to approximately 150 lines, improving readability and maintainability. I also optimized performance using React windowing and thumbnail URL caching.
AWS and DevOps: I handled all AWS services, including CI/CD pipelines and Lambda functions, ensuring seamless backend integration with the serverless framework. I designed and organized backend folder structures and automated deployment processes, streamlining our development workflow.
Project Management and Documentation: In one of my projects, I managed frontend development using PHP within the 'qcodo' framework, implementing custom queries and new pages to enhance data display and filtering functionalities. I also conducted an in-depth investigation of the backend codebase written in Ruby, documenting API flows and backend operations.
