About

Hi, I am Gourab, currently pursing my M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay. Mathematics is my passion, Algorithms are my love and Data Science is my crush. My recent projects are as follows:- -> Domain Adaptive Few Shot Learning (Tensorflow) -> E- Auction @IIT-Bombay (Django, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) -> Big Mart Sales Prediction (Ensemble Learning using Python) -> Traffic Optimisation App (Java, Android Studio) -> Critical Analysis on Population control measures taken by different Governments Very recently, I got started with the sport of Competitive coding. Here are my ratings on different coding platforms:- InterviewBit- Total score: 45000+, Global rank: ~6500 CodeChef- 3 star, Global rank: 19465 CodeForces- newbie, Global rank: ~51000 LeetCode- 2 star, Global rank: 42395 Programming Languages I use:- -> C++ -> Python -> C -> Java (Limited Exposure) -> JavaScript (Limited Exposure) Operating System Familiarity:- -> Windows(7, 10) -> Ubuntu (18.04, 20.04) -> Android (this one's a no brainer) Enough of bullet points, now let's get to my story. IIT is the best thing that happened to me. More than the destination, the journey taught me things. It brought out the hustler in me. When I got my GATE score card, it read AIR 81, and it taught me a valuable lesson. The more time one puts in behind a target, the greater is the reward. In my case, it was IIT Bombay! I try to do my best in giving back what I have learnt. I have personally interacted with 150+ GATE aspirants. Guided them about GATE exam and IITs, answered their doubts and queries. In my B.Tech. days, I co-founded Ekapiens Media Labs, where I was the head of Marketing. It was a media sharing portal where we had a team of 40 students creating content primarily focused on the college going audience. We partnered in big events, notable mentions are media partners of IIT Kanpur, Kharagpur, Guwahati tech fests. Back then, I was also Secretary at a student run NGO named Sporsho. We distributed New clothes, Food Packets and Crackers to 150+ slum children every Diwali. Apart from Technology and the IT industry, I also have my interests in Marketing, Finance, Sports (always a sports freak), Movies. If you have read till now, just wow! So, tell me, how can I be of help to you?

  • 3 friends came along and decided to do something on their own, of their own. And that is how Ekapiens started. In 2016 the journey started, at a very slow pace I must say. In 2017, magic happened! People started to recognise this name and took intereset.
  • It was Jan, 2017 when our team of 3 started expanding and within 6 months we had a team of 40+ students contributing and we were up and running. Some were writing articles on daily news, some wrote articles on lesser known facts, some were watching over the figures: the views, likes and engagements, some were taking pictures and making videos and some were designing images to go as thumbnails and social media posts.
  • That's how, a structured yet flat organisation was rolling. The most important point to mention was that everyone enjoyed what he/she was doing. On a personal level, I really enjoyed leading my team and working with them. I was available 24/7 for ideas and at times had to pull the team together when the going got tough.
  • The only constraint we had was money, since we were college students at that time. And that is the reason Ekapiens couldn't flourish to it's potential. But one thing is for sure, this failed start-up gave a lot of happy memories and tons of hands-on learning which I think many organisations couldn't give to it's employees/interns.
  • But why the name Ekapiens? What does it mean? Well, we can talk about it over a coffee someday...
