• I was part of consumer team in Fab. Our team’s responsibility was to develop and maintain all features of the entire consumer facing website. My role included leading the entire team, collaborating with product management to evolve product requirements, validating and translating them into milestones and deliverables, creating architecture and developing adhering best coding practices. Few of the significant projects:
• Recommendation Engine:
• I architectured and developed a new recommendation engine to show product recommendations to users. I used Amazon Redshift to create product to product relations and then inserted those relations in Apache Solr. As we use Solr as our search engine, I altered the same framework to serve relevant recommendations to users, based on their activities real time.
• Loyalty Program:
• I architectured and developed a loyalty program for the users. In this project we had to give points, benefits and move users to higher tiers based on their activities. I created rule engine to decide efficiently how users will be rewarded.

• I was part of Amazon Fashion team. Our team’s responsibility was to improve the shopping experience of customers across all the fashion categories in all locales. I worked in several small to mid scale projects. In all the projects I mostly worked alone.
• 1. Enabled pinch and zoom feature for image carousel on product detail page on mobile
• 2. Introduction of search stripe on product detail page on desktop
• 3. Redesign of size and color selector on product detail page on mobile
• 4. Introduction of circular image carousel along with adjacent image partial preview on mobile

• My roles included collaborate with product management to evolve product requirements, validating and translating them into milestones and deliverables and enforcing best practices of rapid development, architecture and coding.
• Below are the few significant milestones I was part of:
• Launch of European store:
• Fab purchased German flash sales website Casacanda. I worked on migrating technology to Fab's social commerce platform in Ruby on Rails. It required data migration and multiple language and currency support. This step enabled Fab to target 26 countries.
• Scaling initiatives through holiday season:
• We worked on removing bottlenecks of performances to be able to scale site to hit multiple days of million dollar sales. Also we worked on automating most part of catalogue management to be able to showcase large number of products on site.
• Tools for managing the sales, products, mailers and the workload of merchandising team:
• We have created and enhanced tools which were used by merchandising team to create and maintain the sales and products. Created few tools to manage the emails we send to the end customers. Created a tool to see the current and historical workload/performance of team members of merchandising team.
• Restructure of site to use flexible Taxonomy framework:
• Moving from Flash sale to a store model we had to rethink and redesign the way be let users browse and discover products on Fab. This required better and flexible categorisation of catalog and capability to perform ad hoc search.
• Customizable Furniture Launch:
• We took the Online Furniture shop in a new direction. We created tools where users can customize furniture as per their need. The most challenging of the tools is the shelf-building tool. Using this tool user can create shelf of any permissible shape and size, add different type of doors and drawers, change the thickness and materials of boards and many more things.

• Did occasional peer code reviews.
