• Domain Lead of Storage: Led team of driver engineers, developing & optimizing storage solutions for eMMC and UFS for MTK Android SoCs. • EMMC & SD Storage drivers: Knowledge of eMMC and SD specs and design. Architected a Generic
• eMMC Driver (Kernel 5.xx), this streamlined future platform integration by drastically reducing porting effort.
• UFS driver: Lead the UFS driver development and porting for MTK Socs for various Kernel versions and Android upgrades.
• Performance analysis – Handling storage benchmark tools like AndroBench, AnTuTu, ESFileExplorer etc. - analyzing and fixing corresponding issues. Understanding of performance analysis tools and mechanisms like systrace, ftrace, LTR traces etc.
• Android OTA updates – Understanding of various OTA mechanisms supported in AOSP – AB OTA, Non AB OTA, VAB and SIU. Ownership of OTA process and OTA package update in MTK devices. Helped develop a tool to simulate OTA process and enhance analysis.
• Recovery and Fastboot mode – Enhancement and bug fixing in Recovery mode and Fastboot mode.
• RPMB driver – MTK RPMB driver development for TEE/SVP supported projects.
• Customer support – Extensive experience of support to tier-1 customers for storage issues. Leveraged in depth knowledge to troubleshoot complex storage domain challenges faced by high-priority clients.
• Mentorship: Mentoring multiple new hires for Android and BSP. Technical discussions with team members about critical issues.
• Software architect: Reviewing major code changes, DTS files and common Linux concepts. Cross domain critical issues solicited my support, and I suggested many design changes in other domains.
