  • Cloudflare moves quickly. I initially joined the R2 team when R2 was planning its first public launch. I helped out by building the first version of the R2 dashboard that users use to interact with their buckets, before moving on to improving R2’s object garbage collection pipeline. I was on the R2 team for about 2 years, working on stability and dealing with the pains of growing extremely quickly.
  • I then inherited R2’s migration tools (Slurper and Sippy), and owned and maintained those for about 8 months. I also rebuilt Slurper on the Developer Platform, building on Queues and Durable Objects, which allowed us to massively improve concurrency and throughput.
  • From there I moved on to the Queues team. I was the technical lead, and delivered what I consider my best professional work here. I built out the core infrastructure for event subscriptions, migrated over the database store backing all Queues with zero downtime, and built major features, like support for multiple consumers and partitions. These were hard engineering challenges that were incredibly fun to work on, especially with talented colleagues and promising junior engineers.
  • I also spent a significant amount of time on the Queues team mentoring other engineers on my team, all of whom I’d work with again in a heartbeat!
  • I’ve written a few posts on the Cloudflare blog about most of these things if you’re curious: https://blog.cloudflare.com/author/siddhant/

  • I worked on a lot of projects over the years at Prisma
  • When I first joined, the team was gearing up for the launch of Prisma 2, and I started building out Prisma Studio from scratch. I worked on Studio for about a year and a half, building new features and bug fixing.
  • I then joined the new Developer Productivity team, where I started building out the Prisma Data Platform, which was supposed to be our commercial product. I also led the effort to build out a design system for Prisma’s web presence. I also worked on the Query Console, which was a sophisticated web editor that you could use to drive Prisma Client from your browser.

  • During my time at Postman, I was on the app team, and we were responsible for delivering the Postman app. Postman was a small startup back then, so there were 3 of us hacking on the app.
  • I helped the team move the Electron app from Backbone to a more modern tech stack built on React & MobX.
  • I rewrote the Postman Collection Runner, also moving it from Backbone to React and Redux.
  • I also worked with the team to build the first version of Postman’s workspaces in the app.
