• Working in a Core Platform and Infrastructure team contributing in the implementation of cloud platforms in a hybrid cloud setting to support PayPal business teams to scale their applications that serve millions of customers worldwide and process billions of dollars in payments. • We are working with the Siemens Web of Things Laboratory and with researchers from the University of California – Berkeley, to improve efficiency and save money in small and large commercial buildings. Our team is building a semantic model using the OWL language that supports automated reasoning. In addition to using these reasoning capabilities to map standard messages into our semantic model, this year we will be focusing on building a negotiation mediator that will try out different strategies to optimize energy use among a collection of buildings by choosing pricing signals and electrical demand targets, using price signals from the electrical utility.
