About

I delight in bridging together hardware and software to produce interesting and useful products. I prefer FreeBSD, but any Unix environment will do. I have been doing this since 1989 and have enjoyed nearly all my projects. I've done the lowest level porting work (boot loaders) through high level gui building tools in C, C++, Java, perl and a host of other specialty languages. I also delight in bringing together people to work towards a common goal. As FreeBSD core team member, I helped to inspire and cajole the FreeBSD committers (myself included) to produce a first-rate operating system. I enjoy the process of shepherding technical developments to achieve long-term goals while fullfilling market-driven needs along the way. Specialties: FreeBSD, device drivers, MIPS, ARM, kernel work.
