Omkar Rajwade — Software Engineer
From modding games to make them run on my old PC, to actually writing scalable software, software development has been quite a journey. I still remember sitting in front of the oh-so blue screen of the Borland compiler, writing my first computer program. Using C++ to print 'Hello, World” for the first time kickstarted this journey, where I gradually went on to gain an early introduction to other programming languages, such as Assembly Language. The pure joy that I got from seeing my code work is what got me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. During this period I dived into new languages, algorithms, higher mathematics, and more abstract concepts like Theory of Computation. I also got the opportunity to tinker and work on many interesting projects, for which I will always be grateful. It was here that I discovered the breadth of computer science and it showed me just how much more there was yet to learn. This fascination with software development that started all those years ago when I was a wee boy, has remained with me even now. Being a part of the Software Development industry has given me a newfound appreciation for more pragmatic disciplines like Project Planning and Scalable Development. I am steadfast in my belief that there is always more to learn, and I am constantly trying to widen my horizons.
