• I lead the Application Networking organization at Netflix, which owns the communication backbone for user, application and agent traffic in the Netflix cloud. My teams ensure that more than 325 million subscribers enjoy a seamless, fast, and secure experience, while Netflix continues to grow across SVOD, Live, Ads, Gaming, GenAI and Agentic AI. We build and run the core platforms that connect services to each other, devices to the cloud, and partners to Netflix systems.
• Edge Services (API Gateway) – Securely connecting devices and partners to Netflix, handling access control, DDoS mitigation, origin protection, and real-time, server-driven updates at global scale.
• Service Communication (Service Mesh & Discovery) – Providing a secure, reliable communication fabric for thousands of services with unified service discovery, routing, resilience mechanisms and intelligent traffic distribution.
• Security & Policy Enforcement – Embedding security and governance directly into the network layer, standardizing authentication, authorization, encryption, and traffic policies so that global protections and upgrades can be rolled out consistently and safely across the fleet. We enable secure and controlled interactions for various forms of identities - users, services, agents.
• Central Control & Observability – Providing a centralized way to configure, observe, and manage traffic across a massive distributed system
• Agentic AI Networking - Enable secure interaction of agents with applications.

• We owned the business logic and high scale real time serving distributed infrastructure for Tweets (storage, retrieval & life cycle management) and URLs (shortening, expansion & metadata fetching). Our systems served 50+ million QPS and powered most consumer and revenue products across Twitter.

• Led multiple teams responsible for building infrastructure and platforms to aid faster product development. We served majority of the product teams and Machine Learning teams at Yelp.
• Core backend:
• This team was responsible for building Envoy based service mesh, an infrastructure layer responsible for service discovery and service to service communication. The team was also responsible for supporting Map Reduce based framework for large scale data processing.
• Core Mobile API:
• Bootstrapped the Core Mobile API team that owned the REST and GraphQL based API infrastructure and networking stack for the Yelp Consumer and Biz mobile apps.

• Founding engineer on the Core Backend team that was responsible for distributed service infrastructure, mobile API and data processing framework.
• Designed and co-led the development of request budgets, a mechanism to increase the resiliency of infrastructure by limiting the total amount of time spent processing requests. Built tooling for automation of swagger spec registration and client library generation.
• Built infrastructure for retrieval, ranking, scoring for search results for Yelp's "Request A Quote" product line.
• Built an asynchronous task processing framework based on AWS SQS and Apache Kafka. Led the effort to reduce end to end latency of the system. This system processes over hundreds of million messages a day in near real time. All of yelp's emails, mobile push notifications, online transactions use this system.
• Created a platform and bootstrapped a community of backend engineers that came together to discuss technical designs, tools and technologies and case studies. This community now has 300+ engineers and over 200 recorded sessions.

• Led a cross functional team to implement multicast protocol for Virtual Connect, an interconnect device that goes into the HP BladeSystem environment. Responsible for setting the technical direction and engineering goals, guiding the team through successful execution and delivery of the solution.
• Led the design and development of multiple products for HP Virtual partition, a hypervisor based server virtualization solutions. Designed algorithms for optimal CPU and memory assignments to operating systems running on virtual machines.
• Developed a platform to run a mixed versions of HP-UX operating system on Virtual Partitions within the same hard partition. This provided a systematic migration path for customers wanting to move from an existing release to a newer release of the Virtual Partitions product with minimal downtime.
