Rupayan Sarkar — Senior Software Engineer
I am a software engineer working on the next-generation database engine at Oracle. I am a part of the core data layer team, involved in the massive scalability, high availability and absolute consistency aspects of the database. I also have experience with Intel Persistent Memory programming, thanks to Oracle's new database kernel being written for modern-age hardware. I have worked at Microsoft Research, where I worked in NLP, RL and Graph Neural Networks to create novel architectures for adversarial generation of sentiment data. I have also worked on contextual alignment and guiding of encoder-decoder models and graph architectures. In college, I was interested in semiconductors and theoretical physics, and I did an internship at the Indian Institute of Science in the field of nanotechnology. I maintain a strong interest in physics and mathematics to this date, which helps me keep up with the exciting new developments in the field of artificial intelligence.
