Worked on a synthetic biology idea involving genetically engineering the K. Xylinus such that it produces cheaper bacterial cellulose through whey metabolism. Got to the semi-finals in the SynBio Power pitch competition.
Also performed computational flux-based metabolic modelling to analyse the rate of galactose consumption in the genetically modified K. Xylinus, and won the Gold Medal for Best Computational Model in the GOGEC competition.
