• As the first engineering employee, explored the problem domain thoroughly and made strategic choices that till date let us integrate better with the market and with existing tools. Made technology and stack choices that, three years later, are still paying dividends. During this time, I:
• Built an architecture and a team around that architecture that scaled us up from 0-10,000 MAU.
• Authored or co-authored several of the services that make up the architecture.
• Steered the engineering team through a change in business model from B2C to B2B.
• Managed and co-ordinated work among a nine member engineering team.
• Partnered with product and marketing to ensure projects had clear goals and were well-defined
• Built a home-grown analytics engine to inform the growth team’s activities

• As one of the first engineers with the ads group at Flipkart, I helped launch product listing advertisements (PLA) on the e-commerce site.
• Load-tested and profiled OpenX AdServer that we then scaled to 1000 requests per second per server from about 400.
• I also helped induct several new engineering staff and co-created a bootcamp for employees of a company Flipkart acquired into the Ads Group.
• I later moved to a subdivision of the Ads Group that managed the data for the group. Wrote a recording client for the data management platform. The client was to be used in all systems part of the Ads Group to stream data in real-time to a lambda architecture based on Kafka, Storm and Hadoop that was used to get real time success metrics to inform ad choices. Also co-authored the Hadoop jobs for batch processing.

• I was a part of the Affiliates Marketing technology team. As part of this team, I:
• Developed and maintained services/apps that enabled external affiliate marketers to make commissions on sales that happened via their web-properties
• Helped design and develop an API that allowed programmatic access to Flipkart inventory for Affiliates to create their own links/widgets
• As a side project, I also worked with a business development team from the B2B Gift Cards program. I evolved a solution for a Gift Card Management System based on their requirements and oversaw the work of a small team of two in building it out over several months.
