  • The project was a foundational work in one of the niche areas within neuroimaging. It dealt with visualization, quantification and segmentation of 3 dimensional, multimodal tumors images (MRI scans) of the brain.
  • Implemented a self-proposed exponential segmentation and a modified OTSU technique. Both of these were more resilient to differences in parameter settings (due to differences in human perception) than Gaussian distribution based methods. The results of the algorithms were also verified by medical doctors to be better than previous techniques.
