• At Facebook Messenger, I was responsible for the bootstrap of RCS messaging.
• This was a 0->1 technology, product and team buildout, and involved extensive business negotiations with Meta’s top external partners. I also co-led the overhaul of Messenger on iOS that made start times twice as fast, and reduced the app size by 75% improving user experience and retention.

• At Marketplace, I was responsible for Payments and Messaging Commerce, which spanned every single transaction across Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp as well as Ads Billing, accounting for all of Meta’s revenues.
• We built out a scalable, extensible consumer payments platform for various markets, leveraging the core foundational infrastructure built for Ads billing. We simultaneously built several 0->1 consumer payments products to find product market fit. Of these, we scaled WhatsApp P2P payments, Instagram Commerce, Messaging Commerce, Donations, culminating in the launch of ‘Facebook Pay’ (now ‘Meta Pay’) across WhatsApp, FB, Instagram and Quest to XXX MM users. We also optimized Ads Billing and realized over $100 MM revenue lift.

• Responsible for Search and Recommendations Infrastructure and Algorithms.
• Flipkart is India’s #1 Commerce marketplace (consistently ahead of Amazon). I led the transformation of the Search stack from a monolithic index into a near-real-time indexing and serving infrastructure with up-to-the-minute freshness of pricing and inventory attributes. We developed ML based algorithms for relevance and ranking, and improved our Search models significantly. I also drove Personalized Search based on geolocation, Query Intent and Augmentation, a suite of Recommendation model improvements and conceptualized Image based Recommendations, increasing top-line revenues by over 20%. I hired a cross-functional team of Data Scientists, IR experts and product managers and established academia collaborations with top-tier colleges focussed on research for vertical search. I managed the technical infrastructure and human resource budget of $XX MM.
• Previously, responsible for Consumer platforms, Web and mobile apps, Reviews and Checkout platforms.
• I seeded and scaled Mobile from 0 to $200M revenue + 1 million active users within < 1 year, took iOS app to #2 rank on Apple App Store; mobile from 0 to 50% user traffic; 0 to 30% rev share. We re-architected several consumer platform components including the critical Transaction pipeline into a structured cloud-ready SOA web-service suite. We increased the resilience of our real-time serving systems for web and mobile increasing availability from 98.5% to 99.8%, and reduced website latency by 30%. I also partnered with business bringing home path-breaking partnerships for Flipkart, such as with Xiaomi for exclusive product launches of their devices on Flipkart.

• Responsible for the Middle Office and Client Assets Technology systems.
• Middle Office performs mission-critical quasi-real-time to batch functions post-trade-execution in >20 markets globally with hundreds of millions of transactions per day and complex business logic. Client Assets performs critical and highly regulated client cash lock-up and securities segregation functions. We built and evolved the platform for Middle Office to process high throughput market events in near real-time triggering 3-way reconciliations with stock exchanges and with clients’ order confirmation systems.
