About

I have about 8 years of experience in building and maintaining low‐latency, real‐time data systems that are distributed and highly scalable. I have worked at companies like Oracle, YugabyteDB, Netflix, and Chroma. I primarily code in C++ and Rust, with additional experience in Java, Python, and C. I have worked on distributed databases all my career across a broad range of areas, including storage, indexing, sharding, consensus, execution engine, request coalescing, prefetching, task prioritization, quota management, and rate limiting. I have also worked on control plane orchestration, such as cluster balancer, and also built day 2 database technologies, such as point-in-time recovery, and external backup/restore. I know the RAFT consensus protocol very well, and I am adept in asynchronous programming, concurrency control, multi‐threading, Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs), and protocol buffers. Holding a Dual (B.Tech + M.Tech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, I am passionate about tackling challenging and technically complex problems at the intersection of distributed systems and databases. I am also a voluntary teacher and mentor for various non-profit and academic causes. I am also an avid Toastmaster and a division-level public speaker.
