About

I've spent 15 years building Android apps, starting at a healthcare startup where I shipped 20+ apps, then leading architecture at Abercrombie & Fitch, then joining as developer #6 on a project that became Disney+. At Disney, I eventually became the Director overseeing all Android engineering for Disney+: a 40+-person org, a single Kotlin codebase, and every Android form factor (Phones, tablets, TVs, cars, VR headsets, foldables, etc.). With hundreds of millions of installs, Disney+ Android became one of the most used apps. Some of the work I'm most proud of: • Driving the architecture migration that enabled the one-app strategy: Hulu content, then ESPN+, then the full ESPN flagship on Disney+ • Building the original IAP and paywall system from scratch, which went on to process over $2B in revenue • Cutting app cold start time from 8 seconds to under 4, results we presented directly to Amazon • Leading Disney+'s first Meta Quest VR launch and directing the 3D spatial experience currently in development • Navigating the team through company-wide layoffs without losing delivery momentum or the people who mattered I stay close to the technical work. I still read and write code, I use AI tooling daily, and I think the best engineering leaders are the ones who never fully stop being engineers. But the part of the job I care about just as much is the people side: building teams where engineers feel trusted, shielded from unnecessary noise, and set up to do their best work.
