Arya Chakraborty — Co-Founder
I'm an EE undergrad at NSEC, Kolkata and somewhere between classes, I ended up co-founding a startup. Lumicore builds solar windows. Specifically, we use luminescent solar concentrators made with carbon quantum dots derived from agricultural waste turned into a building material that generates electricity. It's incubated at Jadavpur University, and we've been fortunate to get recognition at the JU Hult Prize and interest from early-stage VCs. I've been involved in pretty much everything R&D, pitch decks, investor docs, technical simulations which has been equal parts chaotic and exciting. I also compete in case competitions, which started as a curiosity and turned into something I genuinely look forward to. Recently I worked on an acquisition advisory scenario for a UK challenger bank at Clarion '26, and before that built out Sentinel AI an emotion-aware financial assistant for retail investors at the SHARE IITK Global Case Competition. These pushed me toward financial modelling and deal analysis in ways that felt surprisingly natural. On the side, I've been getting into quantitative finance building alphas on WorldQuant BRAIN, learning how signals actually get constructed, and slowly figuring out how markets think. I'm looking for internships where I can be useful across both technical and strategic work ideally somewhere things move fast and there's real problem-solving involved. Always happy to connect.
