  • Served as tech lead manager for backend team of 4 engineers along with coaching engineers from front-end pod of 6 SWEs as and when required.
  • Major accomplishments
  • 1. Actively participated in design/code reviews to ensure that architecture, design and coding principles are followed by the team.
  • 2. Own sprint and release management for biweekly cloud releases for both front-end and back-end pods.
  • 3. Led daily scrum
  • 4. Guide teams in adoption of one engineering
  • 5. Successfully presented a promotion case from SWE1 to SWE2 role.
  • 5. Continued to make significant IC contributions. Some key projects are listed below
  • a. Storage services
  • Storage services provide functionality to create database schema corr. to a user defined data model. Feature work involved:
  • Designed and developed SQL DDL schema generation layer which generated schema corr. to user defined data model. It also generates sql scripts to update existing
  • schema when user subsequently updates the data model. The first release of the feature included
  • support for MySQL database. In next release, I lead the effort to extend schema generation layer
  • to support Oracle and MSSQL databases.
  • Enhanced other features e.g. import/export/publish of services to include storage services.
  • Lead a v-team of 5 people across 2 teams to stabilize and ship the feature across all supported
  • cloud and on-prem topologies.
  • b. Node.js services
  • This feature allows Node.js packages to be imported into MF and subsequently use imported services in mobile apps. It also supports augmenting security level associated with imported services.
  • c. Publish snapshot
  • Previous publish logic did not allow rolling back runtime state to an earlier state if required e.g. in case of publish failures. Updated publish workflow to include snapshot capability to achieve the same. This immensely helped ensure the runtime environment could be restored to a stable state so that mobile apps can continue to work seamlessly.

  • Kony MobileFabric(MF) is an Enterprise Mobile Backend as a Service Solution (MBaaS) which provides Identity, Integration and Management Services for rapid mobile app development. It is offered both as cloud and on-premise solution. Following are the key features I have worked on:
  • 1. Data model for workspace service
  • Workspace service acts as a repository service to store any data authored by an end user on MF console while designing a mobile app. To optimize interaction with FE, I updated existing data model and developed new REST APIs to allow CRUD operations on entities. Also developed a tool to migrate existing data to new storage format.
  • 2. Studio MF Integration
  • Integrated Studio allows MF console features e.g. service designer to be accessed within Kony Studio. Feature work involved:
  • Analyzed feature gaps in existing functionality offered by Studio vs MF service designers. Enhanced console/workspace service capabilities to address these feature gaps.
  • Designed and developed migration tool to convert existing services designed in Kony Studio to MobileFabric. This tool has been used extensively by existing customers to migrate their existing Kony Studio apps to Kony MF 7.0 and above.
  • Was primary point of contact for any MF queries for this feature by Kony Studio team.
  • 3. Integrate SoapUI plugin in MF console to allow parsing of WSDL documents given an input url or file
  • 4. Updated encryption mechanism used to store sensitive data e.g user passwords in workspace database.
  • 5. Owned the responsibility of authoring threat models for console and workspace services and subsequent analysis with Security team. Lead the effort to make both services security complaint as per guidelines of security team.
  • 6. Lead the effort to revamp testing of services feature in console.
  • 7. Contributed to support additional databases i.e. Oracle, MSSQL and DB2 for workspace service.
  • 8. Was involved in design and demo of Mulesoft sharepoint connector for Forrester assessment.

  • I worked on design and development of front-end and back-end components which were part of Windows App store. ASP.NET MVC framework is used to develop the front-end features. Microsoft SQL server is used as database. This work also involved significant interaction with partner teams offshore to arrive on interface API requirements for integration with other features of the portal. It also includes troubleshooting live site issues. As a senior member in the team, I was also responsible for mentoring the team members and reviewing the design/code of other features in the store. Some of the components that I have worked on are mentioned below:
  • 1. User Management for Store Management portal: This feature provides the functionality to
  • add/edit users in Store. The design was extensible to allow for new personas to be added using only configuration changes. It also supports representation of hierarchy between various personas in Store.
  • 2. Front-end features for Manual Certification portal: This portal is used to
  • facilitate certification of apps uploaded by developers before they are available for consumers. I
  • worked on developing various front-end features like user management, dashboard pages for monitoring apps under certification, etc.
  • 3. Database schema and Data access layer for Manual Certification portal: I worked on
  • design and development of the database schema model for this portal and also data access
  • layer(DAL) which acts as an interface to MSSQL database. Both database model and DAL were
  • designed to be generic and extensible so that any changes or new features could be rolled in live
  • environment with minimal updates to database layer to speed up database upgrade operation(and
  • hence reduce downtime) during deployment.

  • I worked on Ichabod project whose aim was to provide the external search engine crawlers with metadata from swf files embedded in web pages to enhance indexing of swf content. The solution requires the search engine crawler to provide the swf url to Ichabod, which will run the swf and provide the metadata output for the swf to the search engine. Any user interaction events like mouse clicks are generated virtually inside Ichabod using a virtual user module. I did the design and implementation of the virtual user module. This product was used by search engines like google (http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/11/what-feeling-even-better-indexing-of.html).

  • I was involved in two releases of this product(D11 and D11.5). My work focused on developing new features for the 3D engine in Director/Shockwave along with porting the engine for new platforms like Mac Intel and Windows Vista. Some of the major features were addition of DirectX 9 rendering support, updation of CLOD generation for 3D scene export, optimizing the rendering pipeline and addition of programmable shader support.
