ScaleArc is a Database proxy server which abstracts application from the database servers. It
has features such as caching, load-balancing, Connection pooling, Read-Write split, analytics
and provides Zero downtime for the applications by doing automatic failover.
Worked as Core team member of ScaleArc application which serves client connections by
reading packets on TCP layer. ScaleArc is hard real-time, high throughput, highly parallel, high performance, multi-threaded server-side application written in C/C++, which uses Socket programming (epoll, poll, select) for making non-blocking I/O calls.
Developed and researched ScaleArc support for the new MYSQL-5.7 wire protocol and Zero Downtime upgrade, the research is focused on how the new Mysql-5.7 wire protocol is different from the old Mysql ones and how these changes affect ScaleArc and its failover modules.
Developed Lazy-authentication, Mysql-5.7 user account lock feature for ScaleArc. Lazy-authentication is on demand mechanism which reduces the time and space complexity of the module thereby making faster authentications.
Worked on Health Monitoring module changes for Transaction load balancing feature and on Implicit transaction load balancing feature use cases and BUGS related to them, also worked on various BUGS related to Authentication, SSL, failover, Transaction LB, connection pooling, R/W Split.
Acquired a fair understanding of containerized environment Docker and distributed operating system DC/OS.
