About

I am a research scientist with a strong foundation in quantum computing, machine learning, quantitative finance, and optimization techniques. Currently, I head Fujitsu’s Quantum Lab in North America, driving innovation across the full quantum stack while building and mentoring a global team of experts. My role involves steering strategic research initiatives and fostering academic and industry collaborations to push the boundaries of quantum technology. Previously, I worked in ANZ Bank’s investment division, collaborating with trading, sales, and risk teams to develop and model valuation and risk attribution of derivatives. I worked across diverse asset classes, supporting trading and valuation desks through product lifecycle management and cross-team coordination. I also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Singapore’s Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), Canada, focusing on quantum interactive computational models. My research work has been published in top peer-reviewed conferences and journals and widely cited. I constantly work in environments that requires deep technical expertise aiming to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world impact. I enjoy engaging with like-minded professionals and am open to conversations to discuss emerging trends and breakthrough research.

  • Fujitsu Research is the central innovation engine of Fujitsu, advancing cutting-edge research across quantum computing, AI, networking, converging technologies, data & security, and computing architecture through its global network of labs in Japan, Europe, and the Americas.
  • I am currently the head of North American Quantum Lab. As the founding member in the Americas quantum initiative, I led the establishment and expansion of the North American Quantum Lab from the ground up. I have built research teams in the US and India, with the US team currently comprising of 10 full-time researchers with PhDs. I oversee the full operational lifecycle of the lab, including recruiting, mentorship, project definition, and long-term talent development.
  • I also facilitate cross-site collaboration with Fujitsu’s global research hubs, aligning quantum efforts across regions. As the external-facing lead, I represent Fujitsu’s quantum R&D in media engagements and major industry events. Internally, I regularly present progress and strategic updates to senior leadership, helping shape investment and platform direction for Fujitsu’s quantum initiatives.

  • ANZ is one of the largest banks in the Asia-Pacific region, offering a full range of financial services across retail, commercial, and institutional banking. Its investment banking division provides capital markets, trading, and risk management solutions to corporate and institutional clients globally.
  • Within this division, I worked as part of the quantitative analytics team supporting structured products and derivative pricing. In this role, my work focused on various aspects related to pricing and risk attribution used by traders. I assisted in translating front-office requirements into production-ready models through close collaboration with trading, sales, model validation, and risk teams.
  • My work supported the full lifecycle of new products—from gathering requirements from trading and sales desk, initial modeling to validation, documentation, and production rollout. I also collaborated closely with model validation, QA, and compliance teams to support internal reviews, ensure production readiness, and maintain robust documentation and controls. This included contributing to risk analytics infrastructure, time-decay modelling, and cross-asset valuation frameworks.

  • The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) at the University of Waterloo, Canada, is one of the world’s first and foremost research institutes dedicated to advancing quantum information science. With a strong interdisciplinary environment, IQC brings together physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists to explore the frontiers of quantum theory and its applications.
  • At IQC, my research focused on quantum computation and theoretical computer science, primarily on variants of quantum interactive computational model. Together with my collaborators, we designed online algorithms for solving broad classes of semidefinite optimization problems using a matrix version of the multiplicative weights update method. We also established a fundamental equivalence between problems solvable by quantum interactive systems and those solvable by space-efficient classical algorithms, work that earned a Best Paper Award at STOC 2010, one of the topmost computer science conference.
