As part of the ML internship, we were tasked with building a pipeline to automate the extraction of fields from invoices. While the project was too long for a summer intern, starting and planning an industrial project from scratch with guidance from an experienced team gave me an incredible learning opportunity.
The project provided insights on how to curate data from raw sources and create a working ML solution for a messy "real world" dataset. It also enabled me to practice long-term planning for solutions (how to steer the project over a long term under business constraints)
