About

My expertise is in applying quantitative and computational methods to the analysis of human genetic and epigenetic data. I am trained in mathematics and computer science and later completed a master’s degree and a PhD in bioinformatics. My research focuses on understanding the biological causes of disease and identifying biomarkers for early detection. I am particularly interested in disease prevention, whether through uncovering disease mechanisms, improving management strategies, or detecting risk before symptoms appear. My motivation is to move from generalized medical care to personalized care based on an individual’s genome. I believe that tailoring prevention and treatment to each patient can improve clinical outcomes, reduce unnecessary interventions, and lower overall healthcare costs.

  • My Ph.D. focuses on functional annotation of 10 human genomes to aid the identification of disease-causing, Congenital Heart disease specifically, non-coding sequence variants. ENHPATHY is a multidisciplinary science consortium created in the frame of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions (MSCA)-ITN-ETN European Training Networks.

  • Thailand is the top palm oil producer and is ranked third in the world after Indonesia and Malaysia, respectively, with a total area of 654,4000 ha of the palm oil plantation and yield about 18.96 tonnes fresh fruit bunch (FFB) per hectare. A large amount of biomass is available from the industry especially in the form of Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB). Recycling EFB by conversion into usable by-products has been found to be the most suitable way to reduce this raw waste material. My research at Thailand was aimed to analyse the overall impact of the different ways of utilisation of EFB (which is a major component of food waste), namely, using it for mushroom cultivation, using it for making a more efficient compost and using it to generate electricity. My research focused on the environmental impacts and cost-effectiveness of the solution while comparing them and also to establish and compare the environmental profiles of various methods used for the utilisation of EFB from palm oil mills. More specifically, the objectives were to: Establish the environment profiles of the life cycle of the different solutions while determining the hot spots and key environmental parameters for the utilisation of EFB from palm oil mills.

  • Rapid industrialisation and increasing demand has raised the production rate in almost
  • every manufacturing company, globally. Even though the Indian economy has survived
  • the global downturn very well in the past, it has suffered a great deal due to this
  • industrialisation due to pollution and destruction of flora and fauna. But apart from that,
  • industrialisation has brought material well-being and improved health to our doorsteps.
  • New goods, new choices and new comforts have come into being. Economic reforms
  • brought foreign competition in the industrial scenario, led to pulverisation of certain
  • public sector and led to expansion in the production of fast moving costumer goods.
  • I have compiled the CRISIL Risk Reports of various industries and done their analysis in
  • order to project the performance of the respective industries for the years to come
  • ahead. I have used, aggregated turnover, OPM (Operating Profit Margin), ROCE
  • (Return on Capital Employed, ROE [Return on Equity) and NPM (Net Profit Margin) as
  • parameters to do in depth analysis of the industries. To conclude, I have divided the
  • industries into 3 buckets according to the expected change in the coming years, i.e.,
  • experience increase, experience decrease and no change.

  • During my Training and lnternship in the Corporate Finance( lnvestor Relations) of SNL (Siti Networks Limited) I realised my incineration towards cooperate finance. This Internship gave me an opportunity to experience corporate environment for the first time. In my Internship, Firstly, l benchmarked internet penetration levels, speeds and adoption rates across different geographies including all the developed countries, Asia Pacific Countries as well as lndia. ln the global analysis, looked upon the varying internet speeds and broadband adoption trends of different countries around the globe, annually and quarterly. Further, the analysis was focused on the varying internet speed and broadband adoption rates of the APAC (Asia- Pacific) region where lfocused specifically on the performance of lndia and the factors driving increased adoption levels.
  • Secondly, I did a detailed analysis of the lndian wireless and wireline narrowband and broadband market. I elaborated upon the current scenario of the technologies being used, operator and state wise wire-line subscribers. The narrowband and broadband analysis over different regions of lndia helped me look towards a greater conversion potential for many regions in lndia. I also looked upon the performance and market share of different lSPs (lnternet Service Providers) in quality of service provided and benchmarked SNL's performance against the same.
  • The project has helped me get a detailed overview of the state of the internet in lndia and lndia's position in the World. All information was taken from public domain authorized and credible sources like the AKAMAI state of the internet report Q3CY16 and TRAI Performance lndicator Report as of 30th June 2016
