• Developed key features in Address Service which serves 2 million TPS and 3000 internal clients including AWS, Retail, Alexa, Advertisement, etc. Improved Tier-1 resiliency of system by adding stress and chaos testing, managing peaks, automating manual operations which helped in reducing 500 tickets per year. Actively mentored 3 SDEs helping them onboard, guide and review.
• Improved privacy initiatives in Address Service by designing and implementing hard deletion of address data for which Amazon has no legal basis to retain. Gathered requirements on all data stores in scope, downstream consumers and then proposed high level design for the two step deletion solution including testing strategy. Hard deleted data of 40M customers maintaining customer trust and privacy laws without any service impact.
• Designed and implemented propagating data from DynamoDB tables to Data warehouse which helped in querying data in bulk which was crucial for ensuring accurate compliance reporting.
• Implemented and successfully rolled out reduction of shard size of  AWS OpenSearch cluster which is used for reverse look-up of address data. It helped in $45K per year savings, 37% reduction in overall cluster size from 40.5 TB to 26 TB due to clean-up of older inactive records, no manual intervention during node drops and faster recovery.
