• Conceptualized, Prototyped and Deployed a platform that generates and ranks trending news article streams. It also generates and ranks trending entity recommendations for News search. This platform scales to multiple segments (politics, sports, finance…) and across languages. Currently deployed on the Yahoo! Search App - Trending Now news stream. Also available on Yahoo! Mobile Search - Sports. Also available on Yahoo! Homepage Personalized stream - www.yahoo.com, Yahoo! Finance and Yahoo! News.
• 2. Story Clustering :
• Conceptualized, Designed and prototyped a near real time recommendation system that finds related articles given a stream of articles. Managed a team of engineers to get the algorithm production ready and deployed it on www.yahoo.com . As an offshoot, modified the related article finding algorithm to perform article deduplication to increase diversity of articles on www.yahoo.com article stream.
• 3. Webgraph Enrichment for Yahoo! Search - Lead the effort to run distributed ML/NLP pipelines that enrich webscale data (about 40billion URLs) in less than an hour.
• 4. Maintainer for 500+ ML classifiers for Yahoo! wide content taxonomy. I authored the first version of an Active learning pipeline to improve classifier accuracies by more than 10%.
• 5. Authored NER (Named Entity Recognizer) and various other components of an advanced production grade NLP/ML system which is still being used across Yahoo!.
• 6. Experience making ML/NLP systems run on the Yahoo! grid using distributed computing algorithms at petabyte scale.
