Gautam Bathla — Machine Learning Engineer
I am a Data Science Graduate Student at University of Waterloo, Canada. I did B.Tech in Software Engineering from Delhi Technological University, India. I am very passionate about Machine Learning and have worked on various academic and industry projects. I am currently working as a Research Assistant on Data Rescue Project where I am using optical recognition and image segmentation techniques to convert scanned climate data into machine readable format. Before starting graduate course at UW, I worked as Senior Software Engineer at Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore for two years. At Samsung, I was leading a team to build Fall Avoidance System, ML based system to detect liquid spilled on floor. This was being used to prevent elderly people from falling. I also built a Watch Face Recommendation model to recommend watch faces based on the colour and textures of the captured image. I also developed a kernel-level metrics logging tool to measure the performance of a module.
