  • Research Intern
  • During my tenure as research intern at Intel Corporation, I worked on a short-term research project. Key areas of my research included:
  •  Driving improvements to image compression of medical images using deep learning auto-encoder
  •  Improving training time of auto-encoder built in Pytorch
  •  Collaborating with technical institutes such as IITs on research projects

  • In my PhD research, I designed a CAD system to classify four liver tissue types by using ultrasound images. Overall research work required frequent interactions with medical professionals on various aspects, including but not limited to, database collection, establishing ROI, results validation etc.
  • Summary of research work:
  •  Designed neutrosophic similarity score based method to reduce noise and enhance contrast of images
  •  Proposed an algorithm that harnesses the potential of neighboring pixels to improve the accuracy of calculated local derivatives that in turn improvise the features extracted using gray-level difference metrics method
  •  Devised a hybrid feature selection method by combining ReliefF and SFS
  •  Developed an ensemble model that uses k-NN, SVM, RF and majority voting, to enhance the generalization ability of the classifier
  •  The validation of results was done on acquired clinical database
