• Evaluated, Recommended and Implemented WAN optimisation at $500k capex, to support the organisations Active Directory, Server Consolidation and Email Centralisation projects. This solution reduced the total network bandwidth requirement by just over 50% realising a cost saving of $250k per year.
• Implemented IP Telephony at $875k capex, for 35 offices. Reduced the cost of the organisations international voice calls by $120k per year by routing inter office calls over the Wide Area Network.
• Redesigned and configured various elements of the Washington DC Datacentre inline with best practices. Designed and implemented additional network infrastructure for a new Virtual Environment for Virtual Desktop applications. Evaluated and recommended next generation Unified Fabric solutions from several vendors for the organisations Datacentre switching refresh project.
• Implemented Telepresence infrastructure; Gatekeepers, MCU, Management and Codec’s to support meeting room and desktop Video Conferencing throughout the organisation.

• Implemented significant changes, vastly improving the Network Management systems used by the Global Network Operation Centre team in Kuala Lumpur and the Network teams located in Geneva, Switzerland.

• Implemented MPLS, VSAT and IPSec VPN solutions for 16 offices throughout the region, supporting voice and data services.
• Coordinated and oversaw the installation a regional VSAT network for the South Pacific Islands. Designed and implemented the VSAT Hub Infrastructure in Adelaide, Australia.
• Implemented VoIP Gateways and IP Telephony systems across the region.
• Evaluated capacity, monitored, recommended and performed upgrades to the network to support the organisations ERP project.
• Evaluated and implemented several Network Management applications, both commercial and open source. Leveraged Netflow and Cisco IP SLA technology to provide visibility and performance metrics for corporate applications and VoIP services.
• Implemented Wireless LAN infrastructure leveraging 802.1x authentication against the Regional Active Directory, using access points and controllers from multiple vendors. Enabled roaming users transparent authentication to the Wi-Fi network of every office within the Region using their Windows credentials.
• Produced and documented the World Health Organization Global Wireless LAN Security Policy and Standard.
• Responsible for the network design for the shared United Nations office building in Hanoi, Vietnam. Design approved by Cisco and used as a Blueprint for all “Delivering as One” United Nations Projects.

• Travel to Indonesia to assess the effectiveness of services provided by the United Nations Emergency Telecommunications Cluster in response to the Earthquake of 27th May 2006. Plan and implement general improvements to the organisations Wide Area Network.
• Interviewed key staff from United Nations agencies, NGO’s and partner organisations. Produced a report outlining areas of improvement and “lessons learned”
• Significantly improved application performance for several key offices by optimising Quality of Service parameters and coordinating the required changes with the provider.

• Redesigned the Wide Area Network Hub infrastructure to improve scalability and meet the aggressive growth demanded by the organisation. Implemented a fully redundant core network using OSPF as the primary routing protocol.
• Evaluated and implemented QOS policies from the LAN to the WAN, ensuring high quality trouble free Voice and Video communication.
