About

I work on Generative Large Language Models (LLMs) research and applications exploring new ways to enhance the factuality and grounding/attribution of their outputs. I was one of the key contributors in developing Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) and Gemini, demonstrating the real-world impact of LLMs. Throughout my journey at Google Research/AI → Google Brain → Google DeepMind, I've tackled diverse challenges in language technologies and AI, specialising in language generation and semantic representation of language. My work has addressed tasks like paraphrase identification and cross-linguality, paving the way for impactful integrations with Google products like Search, Assistant, Ads, and Cloud. Beyond impactful products, my research has also garnered recognition through high-profile publications (find them on my Google Scholar page). This passion for language began at the Language Technologies Institute, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where I graduated in 2016 working at the intersection of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Education. Prior to CMU, I worked as a Senior Software Developer at D.E. Shaw & Co, building automated solutions for regulatory reporting and risk management within the hedge fund industry. I completed my undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad as a valedictorian.
