• 4-month secondment to the Long Term Strategy team working on the strategy for infrastructure investment and customer connections for Electric Vehicle charging in the UK.

• Technical specialist in Asset Policy team in the field of HV Cables and Tunnels. Responsibilities include:
• Technical assessment of HV Cable Systems (Type Registration Lead), conducting supplier quality audits and witnessing factory testing.
• Development of technical specifications and policy for the purchase of new equipment and ongoing asset management of existing equipment.
• Engagement with internal and external stakeholders in order to make optimal asset management decisions considering cost, risk and performance criteria.
• Provision of technical support to operations (maintenance) and project delivery teams.
• Development lead for HV Cable System FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
• Since September 2016, with National Grid's support, I have been working remotely from home in Friedrichshafen, Germany, with on average one week per month in our UK offices in Warwick.

• 18 month graduate development programme consisting of three six-month placements and a number of training courses to develop business knowledge, technical knowledge and soft skills. My placements were:
• Asset Policy team (10/13 to 04/14): Supporting the development of the business case for utilising mobile substations on the UK transmission system.
• Operations team (04/14 to 10/14): Field-based role in a maintenance team developing a practical understanding of the challenges faced by our operational teams.
• Transmission Network Planning team (10/14 to 04/15): This team falls under the System Operator part of the business. On behalf of the team, I was responsible for studying the capability of the transmission system in terms of thermal capacity and stability, following the installation of the UK's first series compensation installation early in 2015.

• Summer placement student working in Electricity Transmission Asset Management in the Asset Health team. Activities included site visits in order to develop knowledge of National Grid's assets in the field and developing a procedure for conducting condition assessments on substations.

• Summer placement student working in Electricity Transmission Asset Management in the Protection and Control team. Activities included data collection and analysis, training and liaising with different departments to ensure maintenance and replacement work was completed on time.

• Responsibilities included: leading a team of ~10 volunteers, managing a budget of ~£3k per year, organising 4 technical events per year and delivering on objectives set by the CIGRE-UK Executive Committee.
